Executive Summary:
Dr. Long-Sun Ro is a Professor of Department of Neurology, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital at Linkou Medical Center and University College of Medicine, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr Ro received his medical education and graduated at the Chung-Shan Medical & Dental College, Taichung, Taiwan in 1986. He received his PhD at the Department of Neuropathology, Institute of Neurology, at the National Hospital, Queen Square at the University of London, in 1993. He received his professorship at the Department of Neurology, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital at Linkou Medical Center and University College of Medicine, Taipei, in 2007. His research interests focus on neuromuscular disorders, including the study on mechanisms and treatments of neuropathic pain, as well as neurogenetic disorders and associated molecular biology. Dr Ro also researches on neuro-epidemiology. He was the principal investigators for more than 150 studies in neuropathic pain and neuromuscular disorders, over the last 30 years. Dr Ro is also widely published with more than 200 papers being published across international journals. For his contribution to these areas of research, he was awarded the top honors as the 2015 Chung-Shan Medical University Academic Distinguished Alumni Award.
